Professional Experience

Andrea Tobos's practice focuses on patent prosecution and litigation in the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and biotechnological fields.  She began her practice at the law firm Cavelier Abogados in 1998 and from 2000 to 2009 she worked at Baker & McKenzie as a member of the firm’s Patent Practice Group.  Andreas´s experience includes drafting and prosecution of new patent applications, as well as providing legal advice in cases involving conflicts related to novel and inventive level criteria.  She also has work experience in preparing freedom to operate searches and state of art searches.

In addition, Andrea has managed large patent portfolios of International and Local Companies within Latin-America.

Adjunct Professor of postgraduate courses in Mercantile Law at Universidad de Los Andes (Bogota), Universidad del Rosario (Bogota) and Universidad Catolica (Bogota and Ibague) for the patent modules.
